Join culinary adviser Chef Alfie Mossadeg for an intimate dumpling-making class. Learn the stories, techniques and gestures behind one of Asia's most loved foods, then continue the experience over lunch at a celebrated dumpling restaurant. The remainder of the day is left open for independent discovery.
From Sea to Garden
Rise before dawn for a rare visit to Singapore's working fish market, when the day's catch arrives and the city's kitchens begin to stir. Later, explore traces of colonial Singapore, enjoy an elegant afternoon tea and discover the strategy and social ritual of mahjong in a traditional home. Dinner completes a day that moves from the city's earliest hours to its refined traditions.
The Garden City After Dark
Discover the futuristic landscapes around Marina Bay and the cool mist of the Cloud Forest. Mix Singapore's most famous cocktail in a hands-on Singapore Sling class, followed by lunch with panoramic city views. Where the Capital Began
Guests on the Singapore extension fly to Kuala Lumpur, where they meet travelers beginning the Malaysia journey. Together, travel into the city and begin near the river confluence where Kuala Lumpur was founded. Over lunch in a historic setting, trace the city's journey from trading settlement to modern capital, then explore its architectural worlds. After check-in at The RuMa, gather for a memorable welcome dinner.
Chinatown, Dumplings & Jazz
Explore Chinatown through flavor. Wander market lanes and heritage streets while sampling dumplings, laksa, tea, traditional snacks and sweets from small restaurants and specialist vendors. The evening continues with noodles and live jazz in one of the city's atmospheric music venues.
A Country Market & Nature Kitchen
Leave the city for a gentler rhythm at a countryside pondok. Visit a local market, meet the ingredients of the region and take part in a relaxed cooking experience surrounded by tropical nature. Return with time at leisure before dinner at ATAS, The RuMa's signature restaurant.
The Touch of Art
Experience another side of the capital along the energy of Bukit Bintang. Enjoy a traditional foot massage and explore Lot 10 Hutong. In the evening, enter a private home for an intimate encounter with Malaysian theater and music, followed by a convivial Sunday-style roast dinner hosted with Alfie.
The Road to Paradise
Leave Kuala Lumpur and travel west toward the coast, where a boat carries you across to Pangkor Laut. Arrive at this secluded private-island resort, surrounded by rainforest and sea, and ease into island life over lunch. The remainder of the day is yours to unwind.
An Island at Leisure
A full day to enjoy Pangkor Laut at your own pace: swim, visit the spa, walk through the rainforest or simply let the island become your horizon. As evening arrives, gather on the beach for a festive barbecue dinner with music and dance.
The Bridge to George Town
Travel north to Ipoh, a city of limestone hills, old shophouses and a celebrated food culture. Pause for lunch in the historic center before continuing to Penang. In George Town, a trishaw ride carries you through the evening streets to dinner at Seven Terraces, introducing the island's Peranakan heritage.
The Straits & Its Streets
Step away from the familiar route on a private street-art and food walk through George Town. Discover hidden murals, workshops, family-run kitchens and layered communities. Later, choose a traditional Malay outfit for the journey's special final evening, then explore contemporary Penang through a creative mixology experience.
Faith, Heritage & the Future
Visit Chinese, Buddhist and Hindu places of worship, discovering how faiths and communities have lived side by side. Learn the art and symbolism of traditional kite making in a Seloka workshop, then enjoy lunch at a favorite local restaurant.
